Atletico Madrid are reportedly in a good position to sign midfielder Lucas Torreira from Arsenal this summer.
The Uruguayan was on Atleti’s radar in the summer of 2017, but the Gunners won the race to sign him from Sampdoria.
While Torreira was a big hit during his debut season, he struggled in his second campaign due to injuries and competition for places.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 24-year-old could be on the move this summer and Atleti are well positioned to sign him ahead of AC Milan and Fiorentina.
The Gunners have expressed an interest in signing Thomas Partey from Atleti and it remains to be seen whether they propose a swap involving Torreira.
The north London side would still to pay additional fees for the Ghana international, who currently has a £45m release clause on his contract.
