Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman is confident of landing the signature of Georginio Wijnaldum from Liverpool at the end of the season.
The Dutchman has rejected the latest renewal offer from the Reds and he could leave on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Koeman is confident of a reunion with Wijnaldum, whom he previously managed in the Netherlands setup.
Wijnaldum had recently demanded a three-year deal to the Reds with the option for an additional 12 months.
However, the Reds have been reluctant to offer him more than two years up front and hence, contract talks have broken down.
The Blaugrana, on the other hand, are prepared to meet his demands, but a move may be dependent on Koeman’s future.
Koeman is under immense pressure with the club seven points behind La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid, who have two games in hand.
A new Barcelona president will be elected on January 24 and the fate of Koeman could thereafter be decided.
