Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United have been informed by Bayer Leverkusen that it would take a fee of around £90m to land the signature of Kai Havertz.
The Germany international has been in superb form for Leverkusen in the current campaign and he has registered 15 goals and eight assists in all competitions – most of which have come after the winter break.
His progress has led to suggestions that he could make a big-money move away from the Bundesliga and both the Blues and United have been fancied to bid for his services.
However, it appears that neither club may be able to afford the attacker’s signature after Leverkusen made it clear that they won’t accept anything less than £90m for their leading performer, The Express reports.
Havertz recently returned to action for the German outfit after missing two games due to a muscle injury. He played through 70 minutes of the 1-1 draw versus Schalke 04 which took the club to the fourth position on the table.
