Manchester United are reportedly set to miss out on signing Jude Bellingham from Birmingham City during this summer’s transfer window.
The 16-year-old has enjoyed a superb breakthrough campaign with the Blues in the second tier and he has contributed four goals and three assists from 32 league outings.
Earlier last month, United had invited Bellingham and his family to the club’s training ground where they were shown the world-class facilities and met up with former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
As a result, it was highlighted that they may have the edge in the player’s pursuit but The Mirror claims that Dortmund are still the favourites to land the teenage midfielder.
The German side are prepared to offer the youngster with a sizeable salary package and that is something which United are reluctant to do despite seeing the player’s potential.
Birmingham are likely to demand an initial £30m for the teenager, who is expected to sign a professional contract with the club after his 17th birthday in June.
